So, there you are, happily plugging away at “Time Tunnel” when
suddenly your doorbell rings. It’s one of your friends/neofriends, and you
hurriedly invite them onto your precious laptop. They ask if they can log in
to their account and, being a rather nice Neopian, you oblige. To your
astonishment, your friend’s Neopets is decked out to look like the Lost
Desert! You, with your measly “Yellow” site theme, are extremely jealous.
You kick your friend off of that Macbook, never to been seen again. So now
you are angry and have one less Neofriend. Depressing, eh?
(No friends were harmed in the making of this guide)
If you do find yourself plagued by that customary yellow top and bottom bar,
fear not. There is a way around such an atrocity. There are many themes in
existence on Neopets for nearly every type of mood or personality, much like
Neopets itself. Some may no longer be available, but as time passes and you
are one of the lucky Neopians with that collector’s theme, you definitely
have bragging rights. Until recently, (recently = Wednesday, July 11, 2007)
your fellow Neopians that do not have the option to get onto your personal
laptop had no idea how many site themes you had. Currently, however, the
amount is listed with the rest of your stats on your NeoCafé-themed
userlookup. (It is NeoCafé-themed, RIGHT?) These numbers are just as
pretentious as your avatar amount or the number of cards in your NeoDeck.
So, how do you acquire such prestige among theme collectors? By gathering as
many Neopet site appearances, of course! If you do not wish to labor over
site themes but you still hate that yellow one, check out your site
preferences. You can choose from basic colors there. Unfortunately, all
these automatic themes DO NOT COUNT on your lookup. Only ones you find
appear to the Neopian public. These themes include the Qasalan, Winter,
Birthday and Maraquan looks, in addition to many others. The Neopets Team
will no doubt continue to add themes, so this guide is far from complete.
Let’s get started!
Neovia Site Theme:
This theme can be acquired through the participation of the “Tale of Woe”
plot. If you did not complete this plot, the theme is unavailable to you. If
you have participated in some way, visit Sophie’s Shack (in Neovia) to
receive the theme.
Altador Cup Site Theme:
To get this website look, you must participate in at least one match in the
Altador Cup, from any year. You must actually play one of the three game
options, however. You cannot simply ‘cheer’ for one of the finalists.
Unless, of course, you are cheering in the ‘Make Some Noise’ game. To redeem
your efforts for this theme, visit the Altador Cup Prize page once the
tournament is over.
Curse of Maraqua Site Theme:
This elite and undersea theme has to do with the ‘Curse of Maraqua’ site
plot. To get this now unavailable theme, you must have participated in the
Maraquan War. It costs one war point on the Maraquan prize page.
Valentine’s Day Site Theme:
If you are feeling particularly lovable, or just love pink, this is the site
theme for you. You can gain access to it by sending someone a ‘Mysterious
Valentine’s Card.’ You can also enjoy the theme if you receive the same
item. Be warned, the item is very expensive if not bought in a restock shop.
Space Faerie Site Theme:
This is the only site theme that costs money. As in dollars and cents money.
You can get this theme if you sign up for Premium Neopets. You then must
refer (get others to sign up for) five other people to Premium. No
loopholes, though; you only get the theme if those five people stay on
Premium after their free trial, which lasts 15 days.
Birthday Party Site Theme:
This theme lasts only two days each year. These dates are Neopets’s
birthday, November 15th, and the day you gave to Neopets for your birthday.
This theme is automatically turned on at 12:00:01 on said dates. The theme
also attracts more special events, which can be good or bad.
Wintry Site Theme:
This is without a doubt the most controversial theme on Neopets. To get it,
you have to have, it seems, an extreme amount of luck. The most common way
to unlock this theme is by a random event on Terror Mountain . (NOT Happy
Valley or the Ice Caves ) However, others have received it on the last day of
the yearly Advent Calendar, but again, you need to have an insane amount of
good fortune.
Altadorian Site Theme:
Not to be confused with the Altador Cup theme, this is one of the few plot
goodies that is, as of yet, still available. The Altador Plot is a
mini-plot, and upon completion of said plot, you only need to click King
Altador to receive your night-sky looking theme.
Halloween Site Theme:
Looking slightly similar to the Neovian theme, this is one of the easiest
themes to get permanently. Unless you were one of the Random Contest winners
in October 2004, (those guys already have it) all you have to do is be on
Neopets between 11:59 pm and 11:59:59 pm Neopian Standard Time on October
31st. (Halloween, for our slower readers)
Cyodrake’s Gaze Site Theme:
You get this sidebar only if you completed the Cyodrake’s Gaze plot and
answered two of Cptn. Tuan’s questions correctly. It is currently retired.
Wow, this is a short description!
Qasalan Site Theme:
Also known as the Lost Desert site theme, all you had to do was visit the
Lost Desert prize page upon completion of the Lost Desert plot. TNT is so
creative with their plot names, eh? “The Lost Desert Plot” -_-
Again, theme collecting is an ever-changing world, so if this guide is out
of date, click that little ‘report an error’ button over on the sidebar.
Other than that, get collecting!

Hm, I have two. The Altador Constellation one, and the purple one (which you seem to be missing) All you have to do for that one is look at a purple pet owned by someone.
You are missing the sloth plot theme and the purple theme.

I have the Sloth Plot one, and the purple one. I really want all of them! Especially the Valentines one, the Neovia one, the Altodorian one (I have the Altador Cup one also), the Halloween one, and the Maraqua’s Curse one.

I wrote this article a long time ago, and I’m sure that if you submit themes that are missing from this guide through contacting TNC, a staff member will probably get to work on updating it.
