Frumball Tips

Top Ten Frumball Tips
Submitted by cry884

10: Make sure you have room on your mousepad to move your mouse quickly. If anything gets in your way, your game will end before you know it. Also make sure your mouse ball is clean and smooth because debris and dirt will make your movements shaky and unpredictable.

9: Use the “warp” power ups carefully. They might skip you past your favorite levels onto the hardest where your game will end quickly. If you warp, you don’t receive any points for the levels you skip. However, if you absolutely hate a certain level but do well when you’re past it, a warp may be the right decision.

8: Never hold still. Frumball is like tennis. It’s hard to get moving from a stop, but easier to get to where you need to be if you’re already on the move. I tend to stay near the middle of the screen and hover around while the ball is off hitting targets. That way, I’m never farther than halfway across the screen to catch the ball. If you have to go all the way from the far left to catch a ball headed toward the far right, you might not make it in time and your aim will be poor.

7: Try to make the ball move at an angle. When you hit it with the middle of the bat, it will go straight up and down, meaning you’ll have a shorter time in between required hits. This means the ball will be moving faster and if you don’t keep up, your game will be over in no time. Hitting with the sides of the bat will make the ball go at an angle, meaning it will travel a greater distance, giving you time to get into position.

6: Only 3 power balls are worth possibly sacrificing a life: H, because a single ball probably won’t net you 1000 points anyway, and X and 3, because extra lives will be worth it.

5: Don’t be so focused on catching the power up that you miss the ball. If you catch most power ups but then lose your ball, you won’t get any advantage. There are a few exceptions, like X, 3, W, Z, etc., but if you lose your current ball before you catch the power up, you’ve lost both and gained nothing.

4: The target balls on the edges of the screen are the hardest to hit. When you begin a level for the first time or after losing a ball, move the bat to the edge of the screen so it will hit those first.

3: If you have a good paddle power up (like E) don’t catch a P or S for example. If you have an E (enlarge bat) and catch a P (speed ball up), not only will the ball speed up and be harder to catch with your bat, but your bat will shrink back to normal size!

2: Don’t jump to catch just any power up ball. Learn what to do and which to avoid.

1: Think quick, move fast, and most of all, have fun!

Thanks for the tip.
for tip #10 I think better would be to use a optical mouse.
