Neopets Premium is a service for Neopets that gives you many special features on the site. It costs real money, though. Here are some of the things it provides:
Portal
The Neopets Portal is, basically, a collection of links and information, some neo-related, some not. There is a collection of dailies. There is Neo news, real world news, and a calendar. It has some stock market info, real world and Neopets. It shows the weather, Mapquest, real world and Neopian weather, a clock, and a calculator. It has beta test games and the super shop wiz, which will be talked about later.
Webmail
Neopets Webmail is online E-mail. Your address is your username at Neomail.com. There are exclusive Neopets smilies. Also, you can get random events via Webmail. These random events either give 700-1500 Neopoints and a random item or a rare item.
Beta Testing
Premium users can beta test games. This means playing games before they are released to the public. They can send bug reports on the games to TNT via E-mail. Sending your score won’t give you Neopoints while the game is in testing. Also, site features are sometimes, but rarely. One of the recently tested site features was Customization, which was later tested by the public.
Super Shop Wizard
The Super Shop Wizard (or SSW for short) is an extra special Shop Wizard. Instead of searching some of the shops, it searches all of them. Unfortunately, after about 20 searches, you are banned from it for about ten minutes to and hour. This means that you can’s use the SSW during that time.
No Ads!
Premium users get no ads around the site! That’s right, no banner ads, bottom ads, or any other type of sponsor ad.
Space Faerie Scratch Cards
Every Friday, Premium users get a Space Faerie Scratch Card via Webmail. This Scratch Card isn’t represented as an item. You always win, but usually you just win Neopoints. The exclusive items you win from these are, therefore, pretty valuable.
Premium Boards
There are exclusive Premium boards that only Premium users can use. Due to this, they’re almost spam-free.
Referrals
You can refer people to Premium. There is a page where you can send referrals (be wary, you can only send a total of 20). For the 1st referral, you get 1000 Neopoints and 10 codestones. For the 2nd, you get a lucky space faerie charm, which randomly doubles your Neopoints when you send a game score. For the 3rd, you get a Paint Brush. For the 4th, you get a sidebar (Yay!). For the 5th, you get an avatar that doesn’t count towards your secret avatar count. You get item packs for the 10th, 15th, and 20th.
FAQ
Q: How much does this cost?
A: $7.99 US a month, or $69.95 US a year.
Q: Can the SSW search for anything?
A: No. It can’t search for Paint Brushes, Transmogrification potions, or Lab Map pieces.
Q: Are the Premium Boards slow?
A: Kind of. There are a bunch of people there, but they’re not super fast like the normal boards. There is no need to bump a topic.
Q: Are the Premium Boards REALLY spam-free?
A: Yes.
Q: Is it worth it?
A: It depends on what you think. Obviously, anyone who pays for it thinks so. I, personally, think it is. But that’s just me. It’s really up to you.
