Are you in a guild that has tons of money in donations? Millions? So, now your guild has lots of money for “newbie packs”, or 1 NP Auctions, and other things like that! So what’s the problem? Well, what would you do if the person in charge of the money, most likely the guild leader, just deleted the guild and kept the money?
Though this seems like an unlikely ocurrence, this has happened to many people! This is an e-mail I’ve recieved:
Hi Dave,
I don’t know if you can help my guild or not, but we were scammed.
We were in a guild called the Deserted Tomb, it was awesome. However, we had a till of over 1 million neopoints and we had over 1 million neopoints worth of avvie items. Our owner, Chris, deleted the guild and took everything with him. So, we created a new guild, which I am in now, called ClockWork. Chris has created a guild and we fear that he plans on scamming the members of that guild. If you can help us please neomail me or e-mail me.

This just goes to show you that you can never be to careful! What can you do to prevent this? Here are a few ideas:
- Check with your guild leader to see what the money is going to.
- Try to set up a system in your guild so that more than one member is in charge of your finances. For example: 1 is in charge of 1/2 of the money, and another is in charge of another 1/2. If you’re really worried, then you can split up the money more, if you have enough members. This way, there is less, if no incentive to steal the money, as there is not much to steal.
If you find yourself in a situation like Josh, then here’s some things you can try:
- If the scammer has created another guild, contact a few council members, so they can contact the rest of the guild and warn them that they might be being scammed
- REPORT THE SCAMMER!
