Restocking

Submitted by Hibaq

Many wonder how some Neopians make millions in weeks, have hefty Battledome sets, and have some of the most costly items. You could play games, which admittedly take a bit longer to make serious neopoints, or you could restock.

Restocking is the most popular way to make neopoints. You just buy an item in the Neopian shops for less than you would sell in your shop for. All it takes is fast fingers and good instincts.
First, make sure you have the proper amount of neopoints out. If I’m restocking Petpets or morphing potions, I’ll have about 100k (100,000) neopoints out. If I’m restocking chocolate, maybe just 20k. Be sure you know what you are restocking, and how much neopoints it will take. If you don’t have enough to even buy one cheap item, play some games before venturing into the shops.

Now, make sure you have a shop. This is where you will sell your items. They cost 150 neopoints to make, so you are really gaining when you start a shop. The link can be found here
Here comes the fun part: restocking! Firstly, pick one shop for you to begin in. For beginners, I suggest the Chocolate Factory (located here). It restocks its items often, which is good for beginners. I would suggest having the Shop Wizard out, in case you have to check prices on some item. Remember:Some items are worthless, so always haggle for your items. Haggling is is where you ask for a cheaper price on your items.

When you see the item you want, and have clicked on it, it will take you to the haggling page. Let’s say my item costs 450 neopoints, I should type in the cool little box ‘399′. Type in easy numbers, and be quick. Once you click on the Neopet as instructed, you are faced with three scenarios:

  1. The shopkeeper has accepted your offer, and the item has been added to your inventory. Hooray!
  2. The shopkeeper gives you another price (usually cheaper). Keep haggling!
  3. That item is sold out. Minor setback, I know. But try to get another item. Don’t give up.

Now that you have gotten your item, its time to price it in your shop. Go here, and click on whatever items you want in your shop. Head back to your shop, and you’ll see all your items in a pretty little row. Use the Shop Wizard to price accordingly.

Remember: Never price an item low because you want to get it sold. You are not only losing neopoints, but deflating that item’s worth.

Restocking is my personal favorite way to earn neopoints. A lot of people give up because it is ‘too hard’. Its not, there are no cheats to Neopoints. Don’t give up! Set goals for yourself, and you’ll have those dreams in no time.

This is not a great guide…

Firstly, if a FIRST TIME restocker hopes to get anything good, there is no way that they will get it if they haggle!

This guide doesnt even suggest that you get to know the shop you are restocking at first and by the time you look for a good item on shop wizard if it is good enough then it will have gone!

Secondly, the chocolate factory is probably not the best for beginners (i say probably because there is no concrete best shop-for-beginners).

I would suggest that the Book shop is MUCH better: The amount you can make is generally less that Chocolate shop items but there are MORE items that you can make a profit on… (and if you are intending to follow this stupid guide and use shop wiz as well as haggling, then you are going to need as many profitable items in a store at once as possible!!!)

THE NEOCAFE, YOU HAVE DISAPPOINTED ME BY ALLOWING THIS TO EVEN BE WRITTEN LET ALONE PUBLISHED ON THE INTERNET!!!!!! :D

Yours sincerely,
Alf
